Helen has worked as an independent trainer and behaviourist for 26 years helping many people develop their relationships and bonds. She is very active within the dog world and proactively supports other local trainers.

• ABTC registered Animal Training Instructor

• Kennel Club Accredited Instructor for companion dogs and assistance dogs

• KCAI board member since 2015

• Kennel Club Good Citizen dog scheme Gold level examiner

• A full member of Association of Pet dog Trainers

• UK dog behaviour and training charter group

Helen believes that physical rehabilitation is an important process in having a healthy dog. If she can help animals achieve both physical and emotional balance then many more people would live in harmony with their pets!

Helen spent 6 years as an instructor at dogs for good, helping people with disabilities working closely with a dog provided by the charity to help them gain more independence. She now provides dogs for private clients to help do the same job.

Helen also believes that keeping up her own skills is really important in being a good instructor. She owns 3 pet dogs, 3 horses and 2 goats, she competes regularly in various disciplines and has bred two litters of Labrador’s.

Sky is a beating and picking up dog on shoots, she has competed in Scurry's and she has her Kennel Club Good Citizen Dog Scheme Silver Award.

Jack is Sky’s son and is a peg dog during the shoot season. He is currently at Kennel Club Good Citizen Silver level.

Red is her youngest Labrador and will hopefully join her shooting team.

MARIE

Marie

I've always been an animal lover, even deciding at the age of 6 that I would become a pet snail breeder!

I have volunteered and worked in veterinary practices, farms, stables and a zoological collection.

I love to support animal rescues where I can: I was a foster home for pet rats for 5 years, caring for over 22 rats ranging from half-wild rats to pet rats facing behavioural or medical challenges! I have kept a rescue bearded dragon, who is missed but never forgotten, and my chaotic household is made richer by two rescue dogs and a rescue ferret.

I am Canine First Aid trained and I am a Certified Canine Enrichment Technician (DN-CET).

I am always expanding my knowledge of canine behaviour, and hold a First-Class Bsc (Hons) in Applied Animal Behaviour and Training. I am a recognised Canine Training Professional with the PPG, and am currently preparing for my APDT assessment as a dog training instructor.
